Module 9: Video Reviews

I selected the videos “The Drawings of Michelangelo” and “Albrecht Durer: Image of a Master” because I am interested in learning more about different artists and their works, as well as their contributions to art.

The video “The Drawings of Michelangelo” discusses Michelangelo’s works, techniques, and how his style developed through time. Also, Michelangelo’s oldest works were showed in the video, where he started focusing mostly doing drawings. Eventually, his works as an artist evolved into other forms of art.

The video “Albrecht Durer: Image of a Master” discusses the important contributions Durer in art, in particular with painting and printmaking. Durer used paint and printmaking to portray fascinating artworks that included religious images that were influenced by other works from around the world. He also did artworks of himself.

The videos are related to the readings because they show how artists were also skilled in other crafts such as printmaking during The Renaissance. Also, artists were renowned for their works, and were very important people during their time.

Both videos are very informative and they show the artists’ origins and how they developed their art through time. Their art was definitely influenced by what was going on in society and how art can have an impact to people and the world of art. In addition, the videos add more depth and understanding about during The Renaissance Age.
